Welcome to the website of the Cwm Taf NHS Trust.  The aim of this site is to provide information for patients, visitors and staff.

NHS Wales includes a number of statutory organisations (NHS Trusts and Local Health Boards), which are accountable to the National Assembly for Wales and the Minister for Health and Social Services, for the performance of their health functions and for meeting their statutory financial duties. The National Assembly for Wales together with NHS Trusts, Local Health Boards and independent practitioners providing NHS services are individually required to provide a Publication Scheme under the Freedom of Information Act 2000.

The Trust, like all other public bodies, has undertaken to adopt and maintain a Publication Scheme so that information about the Trust can be made available to the public.  The Trust has chosen to use the Model Publication Scheme which has been developed and approved by the Information Commissioner; it follows a standard format which is also used by other health bodies in Wales.  The Model Publication Scheme specifies seven classes of information and defines what should be contained within each of the classes.

The seven classes:

1. Who we are and what we do – About us
2. What we spend and how we spend it  - Finance
3. What are our priorities and how are we doing? - Performance
4. How we make decisions - Decisions
5. Our policies and procedures - Publications
6. Lists and registers
7. The services we offer – Services.

In addition to providing information, each class will, where applicable, indicate how the information will be made available, whether a charge will be made for providing it and whether any information is exempt.

Because we are a new organisation, we are in the process of developing our Internet website and we have taken the decision that each of the classes detailed above will not be kept separate; they will be displayed on the front page of our Internet site.

This will enable you to find out about our services, our performance, our locations and our current vacancies. You can also find out about who sits on our Trust Board, access board reports and check out the latest Trust news.

We hope the information contained within our site is easy to read and contains information which explains and meets our responsibilities under the Freedom of Information Act 2000.
